St Luke's Church Ipswich has a particular role in serving the Rivers Estate and provides a wonderfully relaxed and friendly environment within which to get to know one another and to serve the local community. We are a church that is very much open to God's Spirit, and longing to grow and develop with a gentleness and relevance to everyday life.
A range of services and activities are offered within a manageable sized congregation where you can get to know people and be known and find it easy to join in. We aim to be a congregation that practice a faith that is relevant today, based on the Bible and filled with the Holy Spirit.

A message from Rev Sharon Potter - 30th November 2011 I am delighted to tell everyone about my appointment as Rector of the Cockfield Benefice. Cockfield is situated in the West of Suffolk, about 2 miles north of Lavenham and 5 miles south of Bury St Edmunds. I will have 5 parishes under my care, Bradfield St Clare, Bradfield St George with Little Whelnethm, Cockfield, Felsham and Gedding. I will be living at the rectory in Cockfield village. There are just over 2,000 people living in the villages, and am looking forward to getting to know as many of them as I can. I haven’t got a firm date for my licensing as yet, but it is possibly going to be 20th or 21st February 2012, and everyone will be welcome to attend. I will, of course, miss everyone in the benefice and all the support you have given me over the past 5 years. |

100th Opening of Coffee Pot - Thursday 31st March 2011 “COFFEE POT” is a drop-in Community Café that is run at St Luke’s Church Hall in Cliff Lane Ipswich. It’s run by volunteers from the Church, and is open every Thursday morning between 9am and 12 noon. “Coffee Pot” has been running for two years and this week celebrates it’s 100th opening. Many people come every week to meet together, have a chat, make new friends and have a coffee, tea or cappuccino and some home-baked cakes. The idea for Coffee Pot came when members from the Church were looking at ways to serve the community in the week. Whilst a thriving toddler group “Grapevine” meets on Wednesday, this new project gave opportunities for local people to meet together during the week. Please do drop in – you’ll be very welcome.
